After viewing the magnificent stars he went back in to check out his astronomy textbook:"So, when I got inside I ran to my textbook and counted 11 of 24 chapters and numerous uncounted passages that discussed a Secular explanation for the origin of our universe. Literally, well over 1/2 of the text was dedicated to origins. However, what percentage do our churches dedicate to origins? Why don't we hear about Genesis and the story of our Creator and His marvelous creation?"

I am interested in your point here. May I reference something that really gives me hope on this subject? It comes from a homeschooler's blog. Perhaps it will fit in with your subject:

The answer to this question is simple: God is infinite and self-existent while the universe—as the Second Law of Thermodynamics says—can't last forever without burning out.
Some people will object that we are just making this up to avoid the question—but how else do you explain the universe? As the Cosmological Argument argues, the universe could not exist forever or time would never have reached this point in time.
You can only explain the origin of the universe by an infinite number of finite beings, which is impossible, or one infinite being, in other words, God."
